Images in the style of Joel Meyerowitz

This was taken on the corner of California street.

The Tree in this photo really stands out. the shadow of the tree really complements the tree itself.

This is similar to Joel Meyerowtiz because of the format and usage of light.

This was taken in front of Drew

Portraits in the style of Richard Avedon

This photo replicates the style of Richard Avedon because of the emphasis of veronicas eyes. Also her clothing is natural. the whit background really forces your eyes to be drawn to the subject of this photo. This is my favorite picture I took in  the style of Richard Avedon.

A big part of this assignment was model direction. I think you can see model direction in this photo, through her eyes. She origanly look straight into the camera and put on a camera smile. Which is normal, even for me. But then I explained that Pictures are more interesting when the different. So the she stared into the camera. I think hat Ricard Avedons photos where so successful  because there where no other photos like them, they interesting because they where different.

Although Ruby is not starting into the camera her eyes grab your attention. If she was smiling this photo would not be similar to Richard Avedon's style. I also like her hair in this photo, it looks really natural.

Luis' natural smile is present in this photo. I think the shadows in this photo are really important in this photo. I think the are a lot of highlights on left side of this photo. also I used model direction in this photo.

Daisy's left eye sits on the corner of the center square. I think that this photo is really interesting to look at. The shadows in this photo are nice. I think there is a certain authenticity in this photo. The darkness of her hair, eyes and scarf are really important and make this photo very interesting.

The rule of thirds is in the background of this photo. I think that this photo is similar to Richard Avedon in that this scene is very natural. Laurence is looking directly into the camera also he has a natural  expression. I think the only difference between Richard Avedon's style and this photo is that the background is not entirely white. However I think this background improves this picture.

Portraits- before the film

This has a white background. Also I think this is authentic.

This photo has a plain background. Also Jeanie has a very natural smile, unlike a camera smile.

This is not like Richard Avedon's style portrait because she is not looking at the camera. However I still really like this photo.

Favorite assignment

This is an example of rule of thirds.
I really like the way that the blue door in the background.

This photo is an example of leading lines.

This photo was taken in a new perspective.

Leading lines create depth in this photo

There is a lot of depth in this photo.

MIrco Worlds

The light from the picture of the tree creates the scence. The light from the background works well with the actually lighting if the room that his photo was taken in. The bright frogs create a sense of depth in this photo.

The frog in the air in this photo is blurry which creates a sense of movement. The other four frogs in this photo really stand out. My eye is drawn towards the left corner.

I really like the position of the frog in this photo. The frog in the top right corner really pops in comparison to the black background.

This photo is closer than any of the others. The red floor in this photo really stands out to me.

This has a very diffrent feel. The last frog is a lone and the tone has changed. It is now a difrent time of day.

Rule of thirds

The way that the window is placed in this shot shows the rule of thirds. The dark colors in the window draw your eyes away from the red brick wall in the background. I also think that it is easy for your eye to wonder to the gray wall at the top of this photo.

This is an example of the rule of thirds and of leading lines. your eyes go to the green and purples in the flowers. Then overtime you look to the empty corner.

The mouse in the photo immediately grabs you eyes. everything else in this photo is only background.

Different form the picture above, a lot of things are going on in this photo. there are books, chairs and tons colors. However my eyes are focused on the button in the corner.

In this photo the flower is the subject. I've taken pictures of these flowers before but through this assignment have realized that this is flower is a lot more interesting ion the corner.

This photo is  mostly  green but the way the light hit this photo you focus on the light green. There   are shadows on the lower leaves that cause you to most look at them first. I also like that way that this was shot from. I focused on the top not so much as having the subject on the side.

This is a really plain photo but I really like it. I think that if this had the same amount of colors as one of the top photos it would not works at well. the falling stairs  create depth. this pot has leading lines, repetition that shows depth and it also has the rule of thirds in it. and at the time I took it I did not realize this.

This photo is all about color. the blue in this really grabs your attention. I think that the green in the background make the subject stand out more.

I have found a theme in my photos. I really like brick backgrounds. They constantly appear in my assignments. this may be because of the limited space I have to shot in or made it is what I have become use to. I realty like how ever though the 'DREW' in this photo is huge you really don't focus on this. Instead I find myself starring at the brick background.

Creating depth by using an out of focus background

By making the background out of focus the colors on the cube stand out.

This one is my favorite! The light in the background makes the swirl look really defined.

I really like the background of this photo. I think it shows depth.

The in this photo is the first thing I see.

leading lines and repetition

This is my favorite photo! The colors really stand out to me. This is an example of leading lines.

This photo shows repetition but the main focus is leading lines.

The brick wall shows repetition and distance.

The lines on the side walk show repetition. Also you can see depth.

This is an example of repetition. Since the holes get smaller its shows depth .

This is an example or leading lines.
